TTOC Awards - The Injustice - Para Athletes not on level playing field.

Posted by on Wednesday, December 30, 2015,

The TTOC hosted yet another splendid event, The awards were well structured and very efficiently timed.  Kudos to Mr Brian Lewis and Olympian Jehue Gordon on well delivered speeches.

I am writing this article though to express my disgust at what I saw unfold when announcing the Sportsman of the Year Award. In years prior, the TTOC bestowed this award on the athlete who has accomplished the most in the calendar year. Why in 2015 was this different ? Is it because he is a Para Athlete and not a...

Khalifa St. Fort - Fast Fort by Donnie Vincent

Posted by on Wednesday, September 9, 2015,

Like a blur out the blue and with a smile that can calm a storm, Trinidad and Tobago's new sprint star Khalifa St Fort has everyone paying attention to her every time time she runs.

What can we attribute to the rise of this talented teen ?  self-belief, supportive parents and the right coach with the skills to guide  an athlete once told she wasn’t good enough or taken seriously.

The coach we speak about is sprint legend Ato Boldon, who has been at the forefront of Khalifa St Fort p...

Australia Stuns West Indies

Posted by on Friday, February 1, 2013,

Twenty years ago, almost to the day, Allan Border won the toss and batted before Curtly Ambrose obliterated Australia at the WACA ground in a spell of 7 for 1. Whirring the ball down with speed and fiendish late swing, Mitchell Starc paid homage by splintering the West Indies in a burst of 4 for 1 to set up a facile nine-wicket victory, achieved with all of 244 balls to spare.

This time it was the touring captain Darren Sammy who paid a heavy price for choosing to bat first on a lively surf...

In London the A standard for the 100m was 10.18 while in Russia the standard will now shift to 10.15.  Even though its a minimal change, will this affect some athletes ? Time will Tell.
