After finishing 7th in The Olympic Games, George Bovell faced many criticism and even ''fans'' asking him to resign. Despite the disappointing showing in his opinion at the games, he has hit back at the haters not with words but with performance. Congrats to George on picking up 16 World Cup Medals and winning his first World Championships Medal, ending off 2012 on a high note.
George Bovell represented Trinidad and Tobago at the 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 Olympics. At the 2004 Olympics, he won a bronze medal in the men's 200 IM: the 9th medalist in the country's history and 12th medal overall. It was also the first-ever Olympic swimming medal for the country, and T&T's only medal from the 2004 Olympics.
Bovell is also a 5 time Pan American Games Medalist, with 2 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze, the most of any Trinidad and Tobago Athlete.
Bovell carried the T&T flag at the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and at the 20th Central American and Caribbean Games in Cartagena, Colombia.
